Nuggets Host Suns on Wednesday
The Phoenix Suns travel to Colorado to face the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena on Wednesday.

The Suns (21-21) had the best record in the NBA last year, but they're not going to finish anywhere near that 64-18 season. They already surpassed that loss total last week, entering this matchup losing nine of their last 11 games. It's bizarre to see such a talented team struggle like this, but it's far from surprising when you peek into the training room. Devin Booker (groin) and Chris Paul (hip) are both sidelined right now, leaving this roster in shambles. They're not the only ones injured either, with Cameron Payne, Deandre Ayton, Torrey Craig, Landry Shamet and Cameron Johnson all on the injury report as well. Not many people could compete with that many players nicked up, and it has fans wondering if this team will even reach the playoffs. If those studs don't return soon, that's a serious discussion that needs to be had.

The Nuggets (27-13) have the best record in the Western Conference. They're currently tied with the Memphis Grizzlies for that top spot and have as many wins as the Boston Celtics in first in the east. Having a two-time reigning MVP would make any team dangerous, but it's the depth that's really changed things for this organization. They got Jamal Murray and Michael Porter both back from long-term injuries while adding Bruce Brown and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the offseason. That's a heck of a unit to have around a superstar like Jokic, who's averaging 25.3 points, 10.8 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game. As long as he's doing that, this will remain one of the scariest teams in the NBA.

These teams played an overtime thriller on Christmas Day, with Denver prevailing, 128-125. That gives the Nuggets nine wins in their last 12 matchups with the Suns.
