A bat-first outfielder with a chance for plus power and above-average speed on the bases, Waldschmidt dealt with his share of injuries as an amateur as well. He hit .273 with a .485 on-base percentage and significantly more walks (15) than strikeouts (nine) while stealing four bases and hitting zero home runs in 14 games for Visalia after signing for $2.9 million following his selection with the 31st overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft.
