Rodrigo Bentancur News: Key cog in midfield

Bentancur scored two goals and kept two clean sheets across 26 appearances (21 starts) in the Premier League.

Bentancur was in and out of the lineup across the first half of the season, thanks to a couple minor injuries and a seven-match suspension handed to him by the Premier League FA. Once he cleared that suspension and returned from a scary concussion in late January, he became a lock in Spurs' midfield. His contributions don't necessarily show up on the stat sheet - he scored two goals in 26 EPL appearances - he played a key role in build-up play and on the defensive end. He figures to be a key part of Spurs' midfield again next season, in both the Premier League and Champions League.
