Cooper Hummel News: Elects free agency

Hummel elected free agency Thursday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Hummel has bounced on and off both the Yankees' and Orioles' roster this season, but he was most recently designated for assignment Monday by Baltimore. He should land with a new club and could serve as an occasional bench bat in the majors.
