Patterson struggled with injuries and poor form and hardly played throughout the season. The defender failed to appear in the final three matches of the season. Patterson would likely remain a depth option next season, even if back to full fitness. That said, the departure of Ashley Young could open up more room for Patterson to compete for starts at right-back.
