Patterson (groin) is out for Sunday's match against Brighton, manager David Moyes told media during his pre-match press conference Friday. "[Nathan] Patterson is not fit, either."

Patterson missed the season-opening loss against Leeds United, and the right-back won't be able to make his return to action this weekend, either. This means Jake O'Brien will continue to start at right-back, though the overall defensive line remains depleted since Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) and Vitaliy Mykolenko (undisclosed) are sidelined as well.
