Brebbia was released by the Tigers on Thursday.

The Tigers designated Brebbia for assignment Sunday and elected to release him rather than send him on an outright assignment to Triple-A Toledo. He struggled to a 7.71 ERA and 1.77 WHIP across 18.2 innings this season.
