Jimenez secured a save in Oakland's season opener, but that was the only one he'd tally during the 2023 campaign. The 30-year-old missed nearly four months of action with a right shoulder strain; the same injury that forced him to miss a significant chunk of the 2022 season. As a result, Jimenez was limited to just 23.1 innings across 25 appearances. When healthy, Jimenez's slider is extremely effective, but he also has trouble finding the strike zone. He has a 14.2 percent walk rate for his career and a below-average strikeout rate, which doesn't fit the typical closer profile.
