2010 Fantasy Outlook
Hynick came to the White Sox as part of the late-August Jose Contreras deal, but the highlight of his season was a seven-inning perfect game July 1 against Triple-A Portland. His 3.83 ERA for Triple-A Colorado Springs was pretty impressive, but his lack of velocity (high-80s fastball) leaves us with some questions about how effective he will be in the majors. He should begin the 2010 campaign as a starter with Triple-A Charlotte, but he could crack the White Sox’s bullpen before season’s end.
