Alberto Tirado

Tirado, who was acquired from the Blue Jays in the Ben Revere trade during the 2015 season, started last year in a relief role before being sent to extended spring training where he was transitioned to the rotation. His high-90s fastball and slider help generate a ton of strikeouts, but he has struggled to locate for most of his professional career. The Phillies worked with him on making adjustments to have better command of the baseball last season and the results are starting to show. He walked 10 batters in 18.1 innings in July, but walked only 11 in 32 innings in August and September. He still has work to do, but if things come together he has front of the rotation potential thanks to his ability to miss bats.
