The AP is reporting that Cole was killed in a two-car accident near Pensacola last night.

Analysis
Terrible tragedy for a snakebitten organization (this is the third time a Met prospect has died in an auto accident in four years). Our prayers go out to the Cole family and to his friends with the Mets. In fantasy terms, this may make the Mets very reluctant to trade Alex Escobar, who is now their only hitting prospect above A-ball and arguably their only hitting prospect above a grade of C.
