Past Fantasy Outlooks
2007
2006
Diaz struggled to make hard contact at Double-A, and his miserable .259/.296/.373 line puts his prospect status in doubt. The Nationals will probably give him another chance, simply because they don't have anyone below him clamoring for the opportunity, but unless he shows real skill growth there's no reason to pay him any mind.
Diaz developed enough in 2005 that the Nationals elected to add him to their 40-man roster. He could end up being a home-grown answer in Jim Bowden's eternal quest to find a hitter who homers more than he walks.
