Robinson enters his 17th season in the league providing a spark off the bench for the Nets. Now with newly acquired big man Marc Jackson, the Nets will play Robinson to give teams a different look. Robinson provides the rare skill of three point shooting from a center or power forward slot. The key is how much playing time Robinson sees. In 29 games last season with the Nets, Robinson averaged 23.8 minutes per game. This number will drop this year as his age continues to rise and the younger Marc Jackson will cut into his playing time.

Fifteen seasons into his career and Robinson is still going strong after averaging 34.7 minutes per game last season. Those minutes may not be available for him this year, as Robinson will come off the bench at power forward in support of Troy Murphy. If there are injuries along the front line, Robinson’s minutes and value will increase.

With Troy Murphy returning from a foot injury, Robinson will be used strictly in a depth role in 2004-05. We're not looking for him to play 30-plus minutes, but could if injuries force him into a larger role. He can still hit the 3 (career 35.7%), which can be valuable from the forward spot.
