Wagner has been out of the league for two years due to numerous health problems and is looking to resurrect his career with the Warriors. He was the sixth overall pick in the 2002 draft and had an impressive rookie campaign, averaging 13.4 points for the Cleveland Cavaliers. When healthy, the 6-2 Wagner is a bonafide scorer who could have some success in the Warriors run and gun offense. If he makes the team, Wagner probably won’t see many minutes though playing behind Jason Richardson, Baron Davis and Monta Ellis.
The Cavaliers are hoping that Wagner will further develop his point guard skills, leaving the team with another option behind Jeff McInnis and Eric Snow. Whether that happens remains to be seen. One thing is certain: Wagner's playing time will be limited this season, thus limiting his fantasy value, which will be minimal at best.
Wagner sandwiched some inconsistent play between two injuries last season. He shot just 36.9 percent and seemed to lose focus when his shot wasn’t on. An experiment at making Wagner the team’s point guard failed last season, but he still possesses the talent to be a quality shooting guard. Could thrive as the Cavs’ sixth man.
