Josh Gray

Joshia Gray was born in 1993 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is the son of Charnella Robinson and Noah Gray Sr. and has four brothers. Gray started his high school career at Washington-Marion High School. During his sophomore season, he led the team to the 2010 Louisiana Class 4A State Semifinals. Then, before his junior year, he transferred to Christian Life Center Academy in Houston, Texas, where led the team to a 20-4 record and averaged 20 points per game. He then transferred to Wheatley High School, also in Houston, for his senior year. During his collegiate years, Gray attended three different schools. He ended his collegiate experience at LSU, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies. Gray lists Kevin Gates, Lil Wayne, Lil Boosie and Webbie as his favorite artists. For the 2012-13 season, he started 31 games as a freshman at Texas Tech and provided 9.3 points, 3.2 assists and 2.0 assists per contest. The 6-0 guard scored in double digits in six of his first seven games and put up a career-high 26 points in a Feb. 20 loss to Oklahoma. When coach Chris Smith left the Red Raiders, Gray transferred to Odessa College where he averaged 34.7 points, 5.9 assist and 2.7 steals per game. He was named to the First Team of the Junior College All-America Team and MVP of the Western Junior College Athletic Conference. Gray moved back to Division I ball in 2014-15 when he transferred to Louisiana State University. He started 20 games as a junior at LSU and averaged 7.1 points and 3.8 assists per contest. On Jan. 14, he double-doubled with 14 points and 10 assists in a win over Ole Miss. As a senior, Gray was a spot starter on a team that boasted Ben Simmons. He averaged 5.4 points and 1.8 assists in 15.5 minutes per contest during the 2015-16 season.
