Grant Riller

Grant Lucas Riller was born February 8, 1997 in Orlando, Florida. He is the son of Marcus and Bonny Riller and has one older brother and two sisters. The combo guard attended Ocoee High School, also in Florida, where he joined the varsity squad as a ninth grader. On Dec. 28, 2014, Riller scored 53 points (a school record) in a finals victory over Leesburg in the Ocoee Great 8 tournament. Riller averaged 29.1 points per game as a high school senior. Riller then attended the College of Charleston from 2015 to 2020. A preseason knee injury forced Riller to miss his true freshman season. Grant Riller attended the College of Charleston for five years from 2015 to 2020. A pre-season knee injury forced Riller to miss his true freshman season. As a redshirted freshman in 2016-17, Riller scored 21 points in his college debut versus The Citadel. That season he started 29 of 35 games and was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team. As as sophomore, the combo guard averaged 18.6 points per game and scored a season-high 37 against William & Mary on Feb. 8, 2018. At the close of the season, he was named to the 2018 All-CAA First Team. After his junior season, Riller was ranked 20th in the nation in scoring with 21.9 points per game. He also earned his second straight All-ACC First Team award. As a senior, Riller again scored 21.9 points per game while also producing 5.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 three-pointers per contest. At the close of COVID-19-shortened season, Riller led the Cougars to a 17-14 record and won his third consecutive All-CAA First Team honor.
