Walkup was waived Friday by the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Walkup was never expected to make the Bulls' final roster after signing a training camp deal in late September, but the swingman was impressive enough during his college career at Stephen F. Austin to potentially warrant a look in the D-League or overseas once he clears waivers.

2016 Fantasy Outlook
A four-year player at Stephen F. Austin, Walkup rose to public consciousness through his strong play in the NCAA Tournament, when his team upset third-seeded West Virginia in the first round. Over the full season, Walkup was one of the most productive players in Division I, as he averaged an impressive 18.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.1 steals in 30.1 minutes per game while shooting 58.5 percent from the field. At 6-foot-5 with limited athleticism and an underdeveloped three-point shot, Walkup's game doesn't project well to the pro level, which is the main reason why he went undrafted in June. He'll get an opportunity to make the Bulls' roster in training camp, but since he's on a non-guaranteed deal, it's likely he'll start his pro career in the D-League or overseas.
