Captures top-20 finish in Ohio
Morikawa finished tied for 20th after shooting a one-under 71 in the final round of the Memorial Tournament.
ANALYSIS
Morikawa came into the week as one of the favorites and he showed it after opening his first round of the Memorial Tournament with a five-under 67. Unfortunately, his good play from round one was short lived as he followed with rounds of 75-77. Morikawa's struggles in rounds two and three came from areas in his game which he normally excels at. In the second round Morikawa lost 2.11 shots on the field in his short game, where he ranked 67th in SG: Around the Green. On Saturday, it was his iron play that struggled in the wind and led to him losing over four shots on the field in SG: Approach as he hit only six of 18 greens in regulation. He was able to bounce back Sunday with a good round to end up getting a backdoor top-20. But it was yet another disappointing tournament for Moriwaka after it started with a lot of promise.
