Sharp in rehab appearance
Lange (lat) tossed a perfect inning of relief with two strikeouts Tuesday in his rehab appearance with Triple-A Toledo.
Analysis
Lange was shut down last June after undergoing surgery on his right lat and opened the season on the 60-day injured list, so he'll likely be in line for an extended rehab assignment before he gets activated. He began his rehab assignment at High-A West Michigan earlier this month, making two appearances before moving up to Toledo. The righty could eventually give Detroit another arm for its bullpen, though his struggles with control persisted in 2024, as he walked 17 batters in 18.2 innings with the big club before eventually getting demoted to Triple-A and then getting injured.
