Thomas signed a minor league contract with the Angels to join the starting rotation at Triple-A Salt Lake,
MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports.
ANALYSIS
Thomas turns 30 before Opening Day, and he has a 6.93 ERA over just 24.2 career innings in the majors. He was serviceable for Oakland's Triple-A affiliate last season, but he isn't much more than organizational depth. If Thomas ends up starting in the majors, it will likely be because the Angels were devastated by injuries.
