Pausing rehab stint
The Athletics pulled Gelof (wrist) off his rehab assignment Monday after he was diagnosed with a stress reaction in his ribs, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Gelof began his rehab stint with Triple-A Las Vegas last Tuesday while he neared the finish line in his recovery from right wrist surgery, but the rib issue looks like it will further delay him from making his 2025 debut with the big club. He'll be shut down from swinging a bat until he heals up from the stress reaction, so he may not be a realistic candidate to come off the injured list until late May.
