The Timberwolves
waived Bates-Diop on Monday.
ANALYSISBates-Diop joined Minnesota as part of the blockbuster deal that sent
Karl-Anthony Towns to New York in exchange for
Julius Randle and
Donte DiVincenzo. The veteran forward was Minnesota's final cut as the Timberwolves reduced its roster to 15 men ahead of the regular season. Bates-Diop could catch on elsewhere for a team that's hit hard by early-season injuries and short on forward depth.
