Knox's entry into the portal comes after he turned himself into police April 12 after he and former SMU teammate Rashee Rice were involved in a high-speed, six-vehicle crash on a Dallas highway on March 30 in which both individuals left the scene of the accident. SMU suspended the defensive back after learning of his involvement in the incident, for which he's facing eight criminal charges, including six counts of collision involving bodily injury. Knox appeared in 11 games for SMU in 2023, logging four tackles while seeing most of his snaps on special teams.
