Wardlaw downed three wickets for 57 off 9.5 overs, yet recorded a golden duck during Scotland's World Cup opener Tuesday against New Zealand.
ANALYSIS
Scotland entered the crease first, but after 4.2 overs, four wickets had fallen for 12 runs. While fifties from Matt Machan and Richie Berrington relieved them from ignominy, Wardlaw ended Scotland's innings after one ball faced. Wardlaw was far more effective with the ball, stopping openers Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum in the first six overs, before Grant Elliott offered a simple catch to keeper Matthew Cross. Tuesday's haul brought Wardlaw's wicket total to 10 in three ODIs this year, with a tidy 12.8 average and 4.95 runs per over in tow.
