In his last professional outing Ryder slammed an unbeaten 109 for Central Districts in New Zealand's First-Class competition, but that was back in March. The controversial batsman will replace the likes of David Miller who is tipped to play instead with South Africa's "A" squad for two four-day matches against their Indian Counterparts. Though he hasn't played for the Blackcaps since 2014 Ryder averages 22.85 from 22 matches at a strike rate of 127.65 in T20Is. Stars kick off this year's CPL with the first match of the tournament on August 4 against Knight Riders.
