Simmons visited the Cardinals this week, ESPN.com reports.

ANALYSIS
The Cardinals might view Simmons as insurance in the unlikely event they lose restricted free agent Deuce Lutui. Arizona already has a pretty deep offensive line. Simmons will probably be a backup wherever he lands in 2010. He is familiar with Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt, since Whisenhunt used to be Simmons' offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh.

Simmons will provide strength to the Steelers' right guard spot in their smash mouth offense.

Simmons was one of the team's most impressive offensive linemen in spring practice, according to line coach Larry Zierlein. He'll start at right guard for the Steelers.

Simmons is a big key to the Steelers' running game in 2005. With Keydrick Vincent and Oliver Ross gone from the right side of the line, it will be up to Simmons and Max Starks to lead the way for the running backs.
