Will compete with 2nd year man Dominique Byrd for the #3 tight end spot with the loser most likely being cut.

Walker begins the 2006 season as the Rams' No. 2 tight end behind rookie Joe Klopfenstein and ahead of fellow rookie Dominique Byrd. Walker has been one of the surprises of the Rams' training camp and has proven himself as a adequate pass catcher and solid blocker. In Scott Linehan's offense, which utilizes two tight end sets regularly, Walker should see a lot of action but is unlikely to see a lot of balls thrown his way. Walker will remain a non-fantasy factor unless Klopfenstein goes down for an extended period or fails to improve.

Walker saw valuable time last seaosn as the team's second tight end, finishing with seven catches for 90 yards and a TD. He will fill the same role in 2004 but could see some more balls as he has added some needed size in the offseason.

Walker, the team's fifth-round pick in 2003, will battle Mark Anelli to be the team's third TE.
