Could replace Gostkowski
Vinatieri could be a player the Patriots consider adding, either via the draft or as an undrafted free agent, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The team clearly needs to find a new kicker after releasing Stephen Gostkowski last month. Vinatieri's uncle, Adam Vinatieri, kicked for the Patriots from 1996 through 2005 before joining the Colts in 2006. Aside from the name recognition, Chase Vinatieri is legitimately viewed as one of the top options at his position in the 2020 draft class. Todd McShay of ESPN ranks the South Dakota State product fifth overall on that front, behind Tyler Bass, Rodrigo Blankenship, JJ Molson and Ricky Aguayo.
