2025 Fantasy Outlook
Evangelista's production took a step back in his third campaign, as the 23-year-old finished with 10 goals and 32 points over 68 appearances in 2024-25. It's not fair to put the blame for that drop from 2023-24's 39-point output solely on Evangelista. He missed some time due to injuries and was also playing for one of the most disappointing teams in the league. Still, he shot just 7.5 percent, and that was down from a middling 9.3 percent the year before. Evangelista is young and talented, but it's time for him to command a larger role and become a top-six regular for the Predators. If that doesn't happen, he'll have enough offense to help in deeper fantasy formats, but managers in standard leagues can afford to wait and see how he starts 2025-26. Read Past Outlooks

Shakes off rust with assist
Evangelista logged an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Mammoth.
ANALYSIS
Evangelista was a holdout throughout training camp while remaining an unsigned restricted free agent. He came off the non-roster list for the Predators' second game of the season and saw 13:28 of ice time in a second-line role with power-play usage. The lack of preseason action could lead to some unsteady play early in the year for the winger, but the Nashville offense will take all the help it can get. He had 32 points over 68 appearances in 2024-25.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Evangelista did well enough in his first full NHL campaign to finish ninth in Calder Trophy voting, but there are reasons to be pessimistic about his chances of taking a step forward this season. Evangelista had 16 goals and 39 points in 80 regular-season outings in 2023-24, which is a solid result when you consider that he averaged just 13:57 of ice time. That translates to 2.1 points per 60 minutes, which isn't that far behind Claude Giroux, who recorded 64 points in 82 outings while averaging 20:06. The problem is Evangelista will have a tough time earning a bigger role in Nashville after they signed Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault over the summer. The 22-year-old Evangelista does have offensive upside, but it would be best to pencil him in for 40 points or so in 2024-25.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Heading north to continue training
Evangelista has left Nashville and is returning to Canada to continue training while he remains in a contract dispute with the Predators, per Darren Dreger of TSN on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Dreger relayed that discussions are ongoing between Evangelista's camp and the Predators, but both sides are far apart on salary for a two-year term. Considering Evangelista has left Nashville, it appears as though he'll miss a portion of the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign, but that could change if the restricted free agent agrees to a new deal in short order.
