ANALYSIS
Emberson finished the regular season with two goals, 13 points, 125 hits and 97 blocks in 76 outings. The 24-year-old has served primarily in a third-pairing capacity in 2024-25, averaging 15:07 of ice time, but he might find himself as a healthy scratch on occasion in the playoffs should the Oilers' blue line get healthy -- presently, Edmonton is missing Mattias Ekholm (undisclosed), John Klingberg (lower body) and Troy Stecher (undisclosed). However, Klingberg might be an option for Monday's playoff opener versus the Kings.

Emberson was in training camp with the Rangers last season. He had a strong showing in preseason but was waived due to the numbers game. He was claimed by the Sharks and showed extremely well in a 30-game sample with his new club, posting a goal, 10 points, and a perfectly reasonable minus-4 rating while playing for the worst team in the NHL. Emberson missed the final six weeks of the season with a lower-body ailment, but he's expected to be fully healthy for training camp following an offseason trade that saw him head north to Edmonton in a swap for Cody Ceci.
