Hennessy, who racked up 41 points in 69 games with AHL Providence last season, has one goal in 23 NHL games to his credit. He’s off to the KHL this coming season.
Hennessy, who played for HC Lugano in Switzerland this past season, slots in as a depth forward for the Bruins, who will likely spend the bulk of next season with AHL Providence.
Hennessy looks likely to spend the majority of the season with the B-Sens. He only played one game with Ottawa last year and has fallen far down the Sens' forward depth chart. In 59 games with the B-Sens last year, he scored 20 goals and added 17 assists.
With the trade of longtime Ottawa winger Peter Schaefer to Boston, Hennessy will be given every opportunity to make the team out of training camp. If he does, Hennessy will center either the third or fourth line although that doesn't mean much fantasy-wise. Only 22, Hennessy is a hardworking, energetic, and speedy forward who should see a permanent roster spot on the Senators very soon.
The 21-year old Hennessy will begin the 2006-07 year with the Senators' farm team in Binghamton and will likely remain there for the entire season. He has little fantasy value at this point, but may be able to contribute in the years ahead.
Solid junior scorer will eventually get a look from the Sharks, albeit there's no guarantee that comes in 2005-06. We'll see what he shows in the exhibitions.
