Johan Alm

Following three seasons with Skelleftea AIK of the Swedish Hockey League, Alm signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Predators last May and went on to score 11 points in 44 games for AHL Milwaukee. At 6-foot-2, 194 pounds, Alm is a big body who uses his long reach and good positioning to defend his own zone. He doesn’t score much, but is very good at preventing scoring opportunities. Alm is expected to compete for a spot with the Predators this upcoming season but may need more time in the AHL to adjust to the smaller North American rinks. Long-term, Alm projects as a shutdown defender who is strong with the puck and plays a sound positional game, although these skills rarely translate into much fantasy value.
