Parker's contract was terminated by Colorado for insubordination after Parker refused to report to the Avs' AHL affiliate, the Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Parker was suffering from concussion symptoms at the time of his demotion, but then refused to go even after his head cleared. He's now a free agent, though his prospects look dim after as no team claimed him off waivers last month -- plus there's this clash with an organization.

At 6-5, 230, Parker doesn't establish his worth by racking up points. Unless your league counts penalty minutes, Parker does not hold any fantasy value. He has not played more than 25 games in a single season over the past four years.
Parker is strictly an enforcer type who will play a few shifts per game if he make Colorado's final roster.
He's had trouble staying in the lineup, and staying healthy at that. When Parker is on the ice, he's there basically to throw his body around, or get in a donnybrook. The new game doesn't ideally suit his talents.
He's a goon option, nothing more than that. And in today's game, these guys might start getting phased out. Put him down for 1-2 goals, and 125 PIMs.
