James Moontasri
Moon Walker
Falls to 2-4 in UFC after loss on Saturday
Moontasri lost to Alex Morono via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC on FOX 22 on Saturday in Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Moontasri was not the first fight on Saturday who started quickly before fading in a major way. He got the better of Morono in Round 1 with a few well place strikes, but it was all downhill from there. The Moonwalker took a beating over the final ten minutes, particularly in the final frame when Morono connected on 63 of the 90 strikes he threw (70%). Moontasri is an accurate and effective kickboxer, but he brings nothing else to the table. He is 2-4 in his first six UFC contests and it wouldn't be a complete shock if the company decided to cut bait.

Looks terrible in loss to Alex Oliveira Saturday
Moontasri lost to Alex Oliveira via unanimous decision (25-30, 26-30, 27-30) at UFC on FOX 20 on Saturday in Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Moontasri was sloppy from the second that the opening bell rang and he only got worse as the fight progressed. Completely confused by the constant pressure of the Brazilian, Moontasri attempted just 42 total strikes compared to 170 from Oliveira. Moontasri brings little to the table other than his striking, and that wasn't working for him on Saturday. He has now alternated wins and losses throughout his first five UFC bouts.

Moontasri defeated Anton Zafir via TKO (strikes) at 4:36 of Round 1 at UFC 193 on Saturday in Melbourne, Australia.
ANALYSIS
A spinning back kick clocked Zafir in the ribs and then Moontasri followed up with a spinning back fist that put an early end to Zafir's UFC debut. Perhaps the most positive sign for Moontasri was the fact that he was taken down early in the fight and managed to work his way back to his feet. Known for his striking, any improvement in Moontasri's ground game certainly qualifies as positive news. He improves to 2-2 in the UFC.

James Moontasri: Loses To Kevin Lee Via Submission Wednesday
Moontasri lost to Kevin Lee via submission (rear naked choke) at 2:56 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Wednesday in San Diego.
ANALYSIS
Moontasri just didn't have much for Lee. He was clearly the slower fighter on the feet and he wasn't able to handle Lee's takedowns. Moontasri falls to 2-1 in the UFC. At 27-years old and with a history of missing weight, there isn't much future potential here.
