Hylton, 79, the oldest driver to race in each of NASCAR's three highest divisions, retired after Friday night's race at Kansas Speedway, the Associated Press reports.

Hylton is finally hanging up his racing suit. After a career spanning 49 years, he called it quits after finishing an impressive 18th in the ARCA Series finale at Kansas Friday night. Hylton amassed 602 starts in NASCAR's top division, with two victories, four pole positions and 301 Top-10 finishes. He is not only the oldest driver to compete in all three of NASCAR's upper divisions, but he will easily be inducted into the Hall of Fame with his legendary status.

The hauler of the No. 60 team of driver Hylton was leaving Daytona International Speedway on Saturday as Hylton never got out on the track to practice. The Carter Simo Racing driver won’t attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500 on Sunday because he never was able to get a complete lap in practice, scenedaily.com reports.
