Retiring after Wimbledon

Baghdatis announced Monday via social media that he intends to retire from professional tennis after competing at Wimbledon in July.

Baghdatis, best known for his runner-up finish at the 2006 Australian Open, has played a more selective ATP schedule in recent years, with his most recent appearance coming in February at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. The 34-year-old, who peaked as the world's eighth-ranked player in 2006, will hope to make one final run at the All England Club before hanging up his racket.
