After two years enrolled at Mississippi, primarily as a wide receiver, Plumlee transferred to Central Florida near the beginning of 2022. For two years, he was a gold standard at quarterback for the Golden Knights, finishing both 2022 and 2023 having logged at least 2,750 scrimmage yards and 20 touchdowns. Behind fellow Big 12 alum Jason Bean, Plumlee is the second QB to be drafted by a UFL team in 2024. Now, Arlington's football team getting Plumlee early next year will be decided by whether or not the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers release him from his undrafted free agent contract.
