September 29, 2020
McGovern (hamstring) is slated to take part in Saturday's elimination final versus Collingwood.
ANALYSIS
McGovern is one of numerous reinforcements on the way for the Eagles as they look to stave off elimination Saturday. He should play a starring role on the back end for the Eagles again in finals, having posted double-digit marks on a pair of occasions during the home-and-away season, averaging 6.0 to go along sith 12.9 disposals per match.

Goes down with hamstring injury
DWest Coast Eagles
Hamstring
September 10, 2020
McGovern limped off the field with a hamstring injury at the end of the first half in Thursday's 65-50 win over Saint Kilda, according to Riley Beveridge of the league's official website.
ANALYSIS
McGovern has dealt with a couple injury problems this season but now he's the next member of the Eagles to go down with a hamstring injury, and this one didn't look minor. He'll await the prognosis over the next couple of days, but can still be comforted by the fact that his team has secured its place in the finals with this win.
Set to return Sunday

August 15, 2020
McGovern (thumb) is listed in the Eagles' starting unit ahead of their match with the Hawks on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
McGovern has been sidelined for three straight matches prior to Sunday due to a thumb fracture he suffered a few weeks back. There was sight of him training with the reserves a weekend ago so it was only a matter of time before he was cleared to rejoin the starters. McGovern has recorded at least 10 disposals in four of the five matches he's played in this season, so look for him to be heavily involved in the passing game for the Eagles upon his return Sunday.
Set to miss third straight game

Thumb
August 8, 2020
McGovern (thumb) will not be available to play Sunday against the Blues, Ryan Daniels of Seven News reports.
ANALYSIS
McGovern will now have been inactive for three consecutive matches as the thumb he fractured in training a few weeks ago is still giving him some issues. He trained Saturday morning with the reserves and can hopefully ramp up his participation over the next week and be reinstated into the starting lineup for the Eagles' Round 12 matchup with the Hawks next Sunday.
Out again Saturday

July 31, 2020
McGovern (thumb) won't play in Saturday's match versus Geelong, Rhys Dickinson of the Eagles' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
McGovern will sit out his second straight contest for the Eagles while recovering from a fractured thumb suffered during training last week. It's unclear how long West Coast will be without him, but the fact that McGovern was listed as a test bodes well for him returning rather soon.

July 25, 2020
McGovern was a late removal from Sunday's lineup against Collingwood due to a thumb injury.
ANALYSIS
McGovern was initially penciled in on the Eagles' starting unit Sunday, but the thumb injury caused a late lineup change. Josh Rotham will receive the start in his place.
