FCarlton Blues
July 10, 2021
Newnes gained 24 disposals, five tackles, four marks and a single clearance and behind each Saturday as Carlton fell to Geelong 70-44 at MCG.
ANALYSIS
Newnes eclipsed double-digit kick and handball totals (13,11) for just the second time this year while also setting season-highs for both tackles (5) and rebound 50s (7) in Saturday's loss. Productive Outing in Season-Opening Loss
FCarlton Blues
March 18, 2021
Newnes finished a 105-80 season-opening loss to Richmond with 27 disposals (14 kicks, 13 handballs), 10 marks and one tackle.
ANALYSIS
The 28 year-old equaled his best kick total since 2018 and highest handball figure since August of last year in Thursday night's match, yet eclipsed double-digit mark figures for only the second time since 2015 in the defeat. Regardless, Newnes exits Week One of the 2021 the Blues top fantasy producer and one to watch heading into a March 25th contest versus Collingwood.
Seals victory after the siren
FCarlton Blues
August 15, 2020
Newnes had 12 disposals (nine kicks, three handballs), eight tackles, one goal and one behind in Saturday's 40-36 victory over the Dockers.
ANALYSIS
Newnes was the hero on Saturday, booting a goal after the siren to snatch victory for the Blues. After being awarded a controversial free-kick, Newnes went back and calmly slotted what was certainly not an easy shot on goal. The victory moves the Blues into 11th position on the ladder, keeping them within reach of playing finals footy.
Gets two goals in win
FCarlton Blues
July 24, 2020
Newnes scored two goals in addition to collecting 15 disposals (nine kicks, six handballs) and five tackles during Saturday's 64-57 win over North Melbourne.
ANALYSIS
Newnes has scored in four straight matches but finally added the production to elevate his performance with a season-high in disposals and tackles. Given how he's steadily improved all season, it's looking good for Newnes going forward, though another performance to confirm his potential could be a good idea.
