Leaving team for four games
MCollingwood Magpies
August 25, 2020
Sidebottom will miss the next four games as he joins his partner for the birth of their child, Riley Beveridge of AFL Media reports.
Sidebottom's regular season appears to be over, but he may be set to rejoin the Magpies for the finals, if they make it. Collingwood currently sits in a position to participate, checking in seventh in the ladder, but they are far from a lock to continue on with numerous teams nipping at their heels. Things will be tougher without Sidebottom, who has averaged just under 24 disposals to go along with 4.2 tackles and 3.7 marks per contest, helping in the midfield.

Collects 18 disposals in win
MCollingwood Magpies
August 6, 2020
Sidebottom collected 18 disposals (nine kicks, nine handballs) and made eight tackles during Thursday's 50-41 win over Sydney.
Sidebottom wasn't nearly as impressive as he was in his return to the pitch, but he still made a reasonable impact with his highest tackle total of the season. One can expect Sidebottom to consistently produce at a high level, but this may not hold true until he finds his rhythm after a long time on the bench.
Shines in return from suspension

August 3, 2020
Sidebottom amassed 25 disposals (12 kicks, 13 handballs), four marks, three tackles, two goals and one behind in Sunday's 61-49 loss to Fremantle.
Sidebottom hit the ground running Sunday as he made his way from a month-long suspension. After breaching the league's COVID-19 protocols, Sidebottom was given plenty of time to think things over and he looked to be more than ready for the contest. He is a key piece for the Magpies and after a couple of losses in a row, they will be looking to him to steady the ship moving forward.
Back from suspension

July 28, 2020
Sidebottom has served his suspension and will likely be selected for Sunday's match versus Fremantle, Tom Robertson of the Magpies' official site reports.
The Magpies have experienced ups and downs in the absence of Sidebottom but were most recently drilled by West Coast last Sunday. His return should represent a major upgrade in the midfield, with Sidebottom averaging 24 disposals, 4.5 marks and 4.3 tackles in his four matches thus far.
Suspended for four games
MCollingwood Magpies
July 1, 2020
Sidebottom has been suspended for four matches for breaching the AFL's COVID-19 protocols, Marc McGowan of the AFL's official site reports.
The length of Sidebottom's suspension doesn't seem all that surprising given the context of his breach. He was transported home by police in what was described as heavily intoxicated state. Sidebottom will not appeal the suspension, so he's set to return at the end of July or beginning of August depending on when the game falls that weekend.
Smashing in win

June 20, 2020
Sidebottom scored one goal, collected 31 disposals (17 kicks, 14 handballs) and made five marks in addition to logging six tackles during Saturday's 81-37 win over St. Kilda.
Sidebottom was all-conquering for the best team in the league to retake his place at the top of the disposal board among his teammates. He'll get another manageable matchup in Round 4 against Greater Western Sydney Giants.
