Pittonet is set for ankle surgery and has a chance to return by the end of the season, his club announced Thursday.
Pittonet had played in all 13 games so far but now has to hope he recovers before the home-and-away season ends with Carlton's finals chances still slim. He never scored more than 86 points in a game this season.

Pittonet secured 12 disposals, five marks, three tackles and a goal to go along with 27 hitouts Saturday as Carlton fell to GWS 102-66 at Giants Stadium.
Pittonet set a personal-best for marks and scored his fifth major of the season in Saturday's match, but it was his game-leading 27 hitouts that lifted the 25 year-old to his best fantasy point total of the year (86).. The ruck has now combined for 24 disposals, nine marks, nine tackles, five clearances, two behinds and a lone goal in the month ofJune and heads into a Round 15 match-up with Adelaide significantly outpacing (90) his fantasy points per game average for 2021 (70.1).

Pittonet (finger) has been included in the lineup for Friday's match versus Gold Coast, Cristian Filippo of the Blues' official site reports.
Pittonet has played fairly well at ruck for the Blues when healthy, averaging more than 21 hitouts and eight disposals per game. Unfortunately, he will cede Friday's start to Tom De Koning at the position, which could limit Pittonet's upside from a fantasy standpoint.

Pittonet will not play in Saturday's match versus Fremantle due to a finger injury, Cristian Filippo of the Blues' official site reports.
Pittonet is only expected to miss 1-to-2 weeks due to the injury, so the ruckman should be back in the fold in short order. With both Pittonet and Matthew Kreuzer (foot) sidelined, Tom De Koning figures to serve in the ruck for Carlton.
