Abraham Toro News: Booted from 40-man roster

The Red Sox designated Toro for assignment Thursday.

Toro collected just a .524 OPS in his last 49 games and had become a roster redundancy after Nathaniel Lowe signed with Boston over the weekend. If Toro passes through waivers, he will have the ability to decline a potential outright assignment and become a free agent.
