Casey Schmitt Injury: Avoids major injury

Schmitt (elbow) underwent X-rays, which came back negative, following Monday's 8-2 win over the Rockies, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Schmitt exited Monday's contest in the top of fifth inning after being struck by a pitch in the right elbow, but he appears to have avoided a major injury. The second baseman is considered to be day-to-day ahead of Tuesday's contest in Colorado.
