Ragans (shoulder) is expected to begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha on Sunday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Ragans has been stuck on the injured list since June 11 due to a left rotator cuff strain, but after making it out of his recent live batting practice sessions without incident, he's been cleared to advance to the final stage of his recovery process. Royals manager Matt Quatraro relayed Friday that Ragans is scheduled to pitch two innings Sunday, and the left-hander will likely increase his workload in one or two more rehab starts after that before potentially rejoining the Kansas City rotation in the second half of September.
