David Hagaman News: Part of haul for Merrill Kelly

The Diamondbacks acquired Hagaman and left-handers Kohl Drake and Mitch Bratt from the Diamondbacks on Thursday in exchange for right-hander Merrill Kelly, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Hagaman, a fourth-round pick in 2024, is the clear third piece in the deal behind Drake and Bratt. Hagaman didn't pitch after getting drafted last season and missed the first two months of 2025 while recovering from an internal brace procedure. He is old for the level, but the 22-year-old righty turned in a 3.52 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 16 strikeouts through 15.1 innings at Single-A Hickory.
