Dom Hamel News: Booted from 40-man

The Mets designated Hamel for assignment Thursday.

The 26-year-old righty moved to the bullpen this year, logging a 4.61 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 39:13 K:BB in 41 innings out of the Triple-A Syracuse bullpen. Hamel made his big-league debut Wednesday against the Padres, giving up three hits and hitting a batter while escaping without any runs scoring.
