Gio Urshela News: Scrubbed from 40-man roster

The Athletics designated Urshela for assignment Friday.

After slashing .238/.287/.326 with zero home runs, 20 RBI and 10 runs scored through 197 plate appearances on the season, Urshela will lose his place on the Athletics' 26-man active roster and 40-man roster. The Athletics recalled Brett Harris, from Triple-A Sacramento to replace him on the active roster, and waiver pickup Jared Shuster will take over Urshela's spot on the 40-man roster.
