Greg Allen News: Becomes free agent

Allen elected to become a free agent Tuesday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Allen passed through waivers unclaimed after being removed from the Orioles' 40-man roster, and he's opted for free agency rather than accepting an outright assignment to the minors. The veteran outfielder went hitless over 14 plate appearances during his brief time in Baltimore.
