Jacob Melton News: Moving to Triple-A

The Astros optioned Melton to Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Melton recently returned from an extended stay on the injured list and went hitless with one walk over six plate appearances in his first two games back in action. Following the team's acquisition of Jesus Sanchez at the trade deadline, Melton was expected to lose out on regular playing time in the Houston outfield, so the 24-year-old will head to Triple-A to get steady at-bats.
