Joe La Sorsa News: Elects free agency

La Sorsa elected free agency Friday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

La Sorsa was designated for assignment by the Reds on Tuesday, and after clearing waivers, he's opted to test the open market rather than accept an outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville. He surrendered eight runs in 6.2 innings with the Reds this season, but he has a 2.82 ERA in 44.2 innings at Louisville.
